Bring Back Disco
(A plea for true diversity and free discussion)
M. Fennell
pre-1995
Every society has its problems
Just as every culture is ideal
n the name of diversity
You force conformity
Without uniqueness there is no appeal
You stop us from having discussions
By limiting what we can say
But pushing freedom of speach
Further from reach
Does not make the problems go away
Why should one group set the rules?
Don't accuse me of transgression
Your code is too strict
We can't joke or depict
True diversity demands complete expression
Treat life like the dance floor
You'll find no perfection here
At least everyone tries
And learns to improvise
And "victims" are never our peers
Bring back the disco culture
Let us be irreverent and diffuse
Although you've protected your ears
Our views are still here
The silenced will stop your abuse
