Christmas Limericks
M. Fennell
December 1999
Note: This is the only time I tried Limericks. There are a few here. They were all written on napkins during lunch, it was a gathering after some Christmas and church activities. I'm sure they are not the greatest limericks, but those at the table liked them.
Limerick of a city priest
M. Fennell 12/12/99
From the city came
a young priest
Idealistic and driven to say the least
He built great cathedrals
And fed thousands of people
Turning despair into bountiful feasts
Limerick of Christmas at the Millenium
M. Fennell 12/12/99
First version:
In Bethlehem was born a great boy
Destined to spread love and joy
When the Second Millennium came
Millions still praised His name
For His truth you can not avoid
Second idea version:
In Bethlehem was born a great boy
Destined to spread love and joy
When the Second Millennium came
Millions still praised His name
For only His spirit can fill up the void
And one limerick written that same day, though not related to Christmas
Limerick of a young lady
M. Fennell 12/12/99
From the city came a young lady
So pretty I hoped she would date me
But I soon lost my head
And asked her to wed
Now shes vowed never to trade me
